Expose on USAF Christian-themed manual leads to cancellation of Nuc Missile Officer ethics course

Air Force Pulls Christian-Themed Ethics Training for Nuclear Missile Officers After Publication of Truthout Report

by: Jason Leopold, Truthout | Report

The Air Force, in response to an exclusive report published by Truthout earlier this week, has withdrawn materials used in a training session that relied upon passages from the New and Old Testament and a quote from an ex-Nazi SS officer to teach missile officers about the morals and ethics of launching nuclear weapons.

The Nuclear Ethics and Nuclear Warfare training "has been taken out of the curriculum and is being reviewed," said David Smith, chief of public affairs of Air Education and Training Command at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas. "The commander reviewed it and decided we needed to have a good hard look at it and make sure it reflected views of modern society."

Smith said the ethics training has been in place for "20-plus years" and the decision to remove it was made on Wednesday after Truthout's report was published. He added that it will now be "given thorough scrutiny" and "folks will be appointed to look at what we have and determine its utility and if they think its useful to continue having an ethics course they will develop a new course."

The course was led by Air Force chaplains and took place during a missile officer's first week in training at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Officers who train to be missileers were required to attend the ethics course, which included a PowerPoint presentation on St. Augustine's "Christian Just War Theory" as well as numerous examples of characters from the New and Old Testament the training materials asserted engaged in warfighting in a "righteous way."

St. Augustine's "Qualifications for Just War," according to the way the Air Force characterized it in slides used in the ethics training, are: "to avenge or to avert evil; to protect the innocent and restore moral social order (just cause)" and "to restore moral order; not expand power, not for pride or revenge (just intent)."

One of the PowerPoint slides also contained a passage from the Book of Revelation that claims Jesus Christ, as the "mighty warrior," believed some wars to be just.

At the conclusion of the ethics training session, missile officers were asked to sign a legal document stating they will not hesitate to launch the nuclear-armed Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) "if lawfully ordered to do so by the President of the United States or his lawful successor."

The documents' blatant use of religious imagery and its numerous references to the New and Old Testament would appear to constitute a violation of the First Amendment establishing a wall of separation between church and state.

The 43-page PowerPoint was included with more than 500 pages of other documents pertaining to a missile officer's first week in training that was released by the Air Force under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and provided to Truthout by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), a civil rights organization.

Another PowerPoint slide quoted Wernher Von Braun, a former member of the Nazi Party and SS officer who is regarded as the father of the US space program. Von Braun was not cited in the PowerPoint as a scientific expert, rather, he was specifically being referenced as a moral authority, which is remarkable considering that the Nazi scientist used Jews imprisoned in concentration camps, captured French anti-Nazi partisans, civilians, and others to help build the V-2, a weapon responsible for the death of thousands of British civilians.

MRFF President Mikey Weinstein said more than 30 missile officers contacted his organization over the past week to complain about the Christian imagery and biblical passages in the ethics training. He said the decision by the Air Force to pull the ethics course material is a "great victory for the constitution." [Full disclosure: Weinstein is a member of Truthout's Board of Advisers.]

"We are not going to commend the Air Force for doing something they should have done a quarter-century ago," Weinstein said. "It's an outrage and a deliberate attempt to torture and distort our constitution when the US Air Force mandatorily teaches its nuclear missile launch officers that fundamentalist Christian theology is inextricably intertwined with the 'correct' decision to launch nukes."

WTC worker with cancer gets $0.00 settlement check

Cancer-stricken Ground Zero worker Edgar Galvis has finally received a compensation check -- for zero dollars.

The 51-year-old Queens man, who suffered sinus problems and then throat cancer after months of removing toxic debris from the World Financial Center, was relieved to get a check in the mail for his court settlement with Merrill Lynch, whose offices he had cleaned.

But he was stunned when he saw the amount: $0.00.

His award had been $10,005, but his lawyers at the firm Worby, Groner, Edelman & Napoli Bern lopped off $2,579 for unitemized legal expenses.

Then they took a 33.3 percent fee of $2,124.

They also subtracted $352, a fee to the lawyer who referred him.

The remaining $4,950 was withheld for unspecified "liens," the letter says. Galvis thinks this was repayment of workers' compensation for aid.

"I have hit rock bottom," said Galvis, who is jobless and $30,000 in debt. "I was expecting a check, and you can imagine how I felt when I opened it. I couldn't believe it. I thought it was a joke."

$2.3 TRILLION Still Missing From Pentagon

On September 10, 2001 then Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld went before Congress and admitted that he could not account for $2.3 TRILLION dollars in Pentagon spending. At the time, that amount of money was nearly half of our entire national debt, both government and personal. The next day, the very part of the Pentagon where the auditors were working and the records were kept, was destroyed in the attack. To this day, the money has never been accounted for.

FBI Allows Felons to Buy Guns in 'Fast and Furious' Operation

Jacob Wayne Chambers and Sean Christopher Stewart, both from Phoenix, Arizona, are convicted felons. Their criminal records include burglary, dealing in stolen goods, resisting arrest, and drug charges.

Convicted felons are barred from purchasing firearms under federal law… and yet these two bought over 360 guns between them, acting as straw purchases for violent drug cartels. The FBI didn’t stop them. Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives sat and watched them buy their guns via closed-circuit TV.

Yes, it’s “Operation Fast and Furious” again. Fox News had a look at the paltry handful of twenty defendants indicted by this massive operation, and spotted the radioactive rap sheets of Chambers and Stewart. The FBI does not wish to comment, but it seems hard to escape the conclusion that federal gun laws were knowingly abrogated so that “Fast and Furious” could move forward.

An angry Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) of the House Oversight committee declared, “You cannot sanction the violation of federal law by enabling or co-enabling prohibited persons, which includes felony convictions, from purchasing firearms. It is unconscionable and goes beyond just being a terribly ill-conceived investigation to bordering, if not crossing, into criminal activity.”

Indeed. Where do we draw the line between law enforcement, and criminal complicity by these agencies in felonious Federal crimes?

Knights Templar, a Revived Medieval Order for International Terrorism?

Just on the heels of the horrific and enigmatic dual terror event in Norway, where the alleged perpetrator claims to be a Knight of a newly re-established Knights Templar, we see this news reported by al-Jazeera...

Pictures of the latest objects seized by the police in the Mexican state of Michoacan, revealed that the mysterious ‘Knights Templar” drug cartel is more bizarre than most people imagine.

There were four hooded tunics, with a red cross, a metal helmet, and a pamphlet or Templar rule book. This drug cartel claims to draw inspiration from the medieval Christian warriors who fought to protect Jerusalem and the Holy Grail.

No one knows if its founder, Servando Gomez, a school teacher, was a history enthusiast or simply read the Da Vinci Code.

The rules in the modern day ‘templar bible’ call for observance of ‘gentleman’ like behaviour and respect for women – but also state that any disclosure of knights templar activities will result in the death of the person and his whole family, and confiscation by the cartel of the snitch’s property…

The cartel is like a secret society.

The Mexican Templars have an initiation ritual, which apparently includes dressing up like knights from the Middle Ages, and performing blood pacts.

The cartel recruits drug users and enrolls them in the organisation’s rehabilitation centers; the process is closely monitored and has a strong religious component.

The double standard is striking: the Templars can not take drugs, and yet they run one of the biggest methamphetamines traffic corridors to the United States.

U.S. on the Verge of Open Dictatorship?

As if it weren't bad enough that we have been operating under the illusion of democracy in a two-party system, it appears that we are now on the verge of an open dictatorship with the formation of a non-Constitutional "Super Congress." The US Congress will be relegated to a rubber-stamp legislative body like that of the Nazi-Germany Reichstag, beholden to the 12 members of this new council. This is not conspiracy theory folks, this is happening right now...
'Super Congress': Debt Ceiling Negotiators Aim To Create New Legislative Body

WASHINGTON -- Debt ceiling negotiators think they've hit on a solution to address the debt ceiling impasse and the public's unwillingness to let go of benefits such as Medicare and Social Security that have been earned over a lifetime of work: Create a new Congress.

This "Super Congress," composed of members of both chambers and both parties, isn't mentioned anywhere in the Constitution, but would be granted extraordinary new powers. Under a plan put forth by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and his counterpart Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), legislation to lift the debt ceiling would be accompanied by the creation of a 12-member panel made up of 12 lawmakers -- six from each chamber and six from each party.

Legislation approved by the Super Congress -- which some on Capitol Hill are calling the "super committee" -- would then be fast-tracked through both chambers, where it couldn't be amended by simple, regular lawmakers, who'd have the ability only to cast an up or down vote. With the weight of both leaderships behind it, a product originated by the Super Congress would have a strong chance of moving through the little Congress and quickly becoming law. A Super Congress would be less accountable than the system that exists today, and would find it easier to strip the public of popular benefits. Negotiators are currently considering cutting the mortgage deduction and tax credits for retirement savings, for instance, extremely popular policies that would be difficult to slice up using the traditional legislative process.

USDA and ISC Ignore Environmental Infection and Contamination

The recent deregulation of genetically mutated bluegrass is the first domino to fall in the scheme to deregulate all GMO’s and to avoid having to label these disgusting creations so that consumers, many of whom are fully aware of the dangers of these products, can choose to avoid them. The economic power wielded by consumers via their food dollars would quickly put an end to genetic modification, mutation and alteration. Therefore, regulation, control, liability for harm and damage along with labeling, must be avoided at all costs.

The reduction of biodiversity as a result of the infestation of transgenic plants and crops will cause the rise of monocultures where a single crop is grown in a region, or becomes the only crop that will grow, wiping out any biodiversity and by necessity causing a rise in the use of pesticides and herbicides as insects and weeds alike develop a tolerance to genetically mutated seeds and chemical applications. This infestation and resulting contamination of food crops in particular, or those crops to be used for feeds and fuel should be treated for what they actually are: the equivalent of AIDS in the plant world.

Cop confronts subject with calm professionalism, for a change

While I do have to commend the officer for handling the situation far better than most of the videos we see these days, there is still cause for concern.

By what right did the officer stop the subject "Jeremy" to begin with? Was there a crime in the neighborhood that he was investigating, that the perpetrator matched Jeremy's description? Had Jeremy been jay-walking, or illegally eating ice cream while on a sidewalk?

Okay, so he was carrying an unloaded pistol on his side in plain view. Are we to be stopped by police every time we do something that is NOT illegal now? What sort of precedent does that set? Do the police have the right to pull you over in your car, which is a dangerous piece of equipment that kills more people each day than guns, and ask you if you intend to do anything dangerous with that vehicle? If police see a book of matches in your hand, does that give them to check your cigarette pack to make sure it's not "loaded" with a joint or two?

So while I do commend the officer being civil to the man whom he stopped, I still see the stop itself as harassment... unless of course he had probable cause.

How did police know gunman's name before arriving on blood-soaked island?

Police Knew Gunman’s Name Before Arrest
British news anchor questions how authorities were aware of Breivik’s identity in advance

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
Monday, July 25, 2011

Despite being portrayed by the media as inept due to the length of time it took them to reach the island of Utoeya, it has now emerged that police knew the name of gunman Anders Behring Breivik before they even arrested him, a startling admission that prompted one of Britain’s top news anchors to question how authorities were aware of the gunman’s identity in advance.

During his Channel 4 News broadcast on Friday evening, host Jon Snow asked “why police knew the killer’s name by the time they had arrived on the island,” reported the Telegraph live blog.

“He surrendered the moment police called his name 3 minutes after they arrived. What we don’t know is how the police knew the terrorist’s name before they arrested him,” said Snow, who is recognized as one of Britain’s most trusted news anchors, and cannot be dismissed as a “conspiracy theorist”.

Snow also posed the question on his official Twitter page.

How authorities knew the gunman’s identity before his slaughter of young Norwegians on the island of Utoeya had even come to an end, and while the overwhelming speculation still centered around Islamic terrorists, is a mystery, as is the question of why the cops didn’t shoot Breivik immediately.

It’s also starkly inconsistent with the “incompetence” angle that’s been heavily pushed by the establishment media in explaining why it took over 90 minutes for police to reach the island, a gap that significantly contributed to Breivik being able to claim such a huge number of victims.

Some have speculated that Breivik may have had accomplices, and although police disregarded eyewitness accounts of multiple shooters on the island, during testimony at his court case today, Breivik admitted that he was merely one part of an organization that included at least two other “cells” who were planning future attacks.

“I believe that there were two people who were shooting,” survivor Alexander Stavdal told Norwegian VG, while other eyewitnesses reported hearing gunshots from “two different places on the island at the same time.”

150 human animal hybrids grown in UK labs: Embryos have been produced secretively for the past three years

Scientists have created more than 150 human-animal hybrid embryos in British laboratories.

The hybrids have been produced secretively over the past three years by researchers looking into possible cures for a wide range of diseases.

The revelation comes just a day after a committee of scientists warned of a nightmare ‘Planet of the Apes’ scenario in which work on human-animal creations goes too far.

Mother of slain teen's boyfriend slams town supervisor

FILIBERTI BOYFRIEND’s MOTHER CALLS OUT MARTINO

'Stand up for my son and Katie as well as cops’

By JIM LANGAN

The mother of the young man questioned early on in the death of Katie Filiberti has reached the boiling point with Hyde Park Supervisor Tom Martino regarding recent comments he made attacking reports that two Hyde Park Police officers had been asked to submit DNA as part of the murder investigation.

The mercurial Martino used the term “bomb throwers” in reference to media and Internet speculation about the officers involved.

Hudson Valley News confirmed and reported the DNA request in our June 29 edition.

Police Chief Charles Broe confirmed our report but vigorously defended the officers involved and expressed frustration with the rash of rumors precipitating such an unusual request.

But it was Martino’s attempt to interject himself that has Melissa Kirby seeing red.

Full story in this week’s print edition, of Hudson Valley News

Can't say I blame her one bit. No one came out to defend her boy in any way when his name was being dragged through the mud all over town and all over the comment pages of a different local news publication. Even when asked directly if the young man was a suspect, police refused to answer, being as tight-lipped as they have been all along. Yet when doubt is cast over the Hyde Park Police Department, an official letter from the District Attorney's office is released to clear them, and the town supervisor calls the media and concerned townspeople "bomb throwers" for daring to question why two officers were asked to submit DNA samples as part of the investigation into the death of Katie Filiberti.

Where is the letter clearing the boyfriend Mr District Attorney? And Mr. Martino, how DARE you accuse the people of this community, and even the press as being instigators, for daring to ask questions about this case rather than giving answers the we should have been told without asking.

At the top of the list, why were two police officers taken in for DNA testing? Is the Chief conducting this investigation based on rumors and innuendo, or is he not? Or, for that matter, is the Chief even still conducting this investigation at all, or has another department taken over as the lead agency?

If the two officers in question were never suspects, then they should never been asked, nor should they have submitted to DNA testing. The notion that they were tested simply to put the public at ease over rumors is quite simply, ridiculous. If that had been the case, then the Chief would have made an official and timely statement explaining why this was being done, who the officers are and their part in the investigation, when exactly the officers were going to be tested, and when the results of the tests would be available. Furthermore, from that point forward he should have recused himself and his department, handing over the investigation to another agency.

The public hasn't heard a peep about the case, zero facts have been given all along, we don't even know if in fact the case is indeed a homicide thanks to the gag order placed on the Medical Examiner, yet when rumors begin swirling about the unprecedented fact that two officers were taken in for DNA testing we are called "bomb-throwers" and told the equivalent of "move along, nothing to see here."

Manifesto of Norwegian mass-murderer

Breivik in Freemason regalia
Here is the video and 1500-page written manifesto of Anders Behring Breivik, the man accused of being Norway's most deadly mass murderer. He is said to be responsible for the bombing of a government building in Oslo, and then hours later, gunning down more than 80 people at an island youth camp. The shooting spree lasted for over an hour and a half, while SWAT response was hampered for nearly an hour trying to reach the island. The death toll between the two attacks is expected to reach nearly 100 people.

Here is the video that was uploaded to Youtube on Friday I believe, the day of the attacks, followed by info taken from several different copies of video descriptions...

This ia a Movie by Anders Behring Breivik - Knights Templar 2083 The man behind explosion in Oslo who killed 7 people, and about 90 youth people at Utøya island outside Oslo July 22th . Anders Behring Breivik is A 32-year-old Norwegian he has been arrested over two terror attacks in Norway as 92 are confirmed dead . Police have said the Norwegian man arrested after the twin attacks in Norway is a right-winger with anti-Muslim views, but they do not know whether that was a factor in the attacks. His views are very clear from this video of his production it is also said that he admired of the Dutch far right politician Geert Wilders and he is also described as "Christian fundamentalist" and a Freemason.Officers are continuing to search Breivik's property - a flat and farmhouse - in a wealthy suburb west of Oslo.

It has emerged that he is a former member of a populist anti-immigration party who wrote blogs attacking multiculturalism and Islam.

Website entries under Breivik's name criticised European politicians for trying to accommodate the cultures of different ethic groups, and claimed a significant minority of young British Muslims backed radical Islamic militancy.

"When did multiculturalism cease to be an ideology designed to deconstruct European culture, traditions, identity and nation-states?" said one entry, posted on February 2, 2010 on the right-wing website www.document.no.

"According to two studies, 13% of young British Muslims aged between 15 and 25 support al Qaeda ideology," said another entry dated February 16 last year.

He described himself on his Facebook page as leaning towards right-wing Christianity.

Breivik had also been a member of the Progress Party, the second largest in parliament and a rival to the Labour Party.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Below are excerpts of an alledged letter written to Giuseppe Mazzini, by Albert Pike(a 33rd degree mason) in 1871. READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH VERY CAREFULLY:

"The First World War must be brought about in order to permit the Illuminati to overthrow the power of the Czars in Russia and of making that country a fortress of atheistic Communism. The divergences caused by the "agentur" (agents) of the Illuminati between the British and Germanic Empires will be used to foment this war. At the end of the war, Communism will be built and used in order to destroy the other governments and in order to weaken the religions."

"The Second World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences between the Fascists and the political Zionists. This war must be brought about so that Nazism is destroyed and that the political Zionism be strong enough to institute a sovereign state of Israel in Palestine. During the Second World War, International Communism must become strong enough in order to balance Christendom, which would be then restrained and held in check until the time when we would need it for the final social cataclysm."

"The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the "agentur" of the "Illuminati" between the political Zionists and the leaders of Islamic World. The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion...We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view. This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time."

Board positions, professional activities, responsibilities

2003: Candidate for the Oslo City Council election on behalf of the Oslo Progress Party. This was during the “crossroad” when I was in the process of deciding whether I would fully abandon conventional politics (and a career within conventional politics) as a solution/source to acquire funds for the future operation or if I would rather leave conventional politics altogether and rather focus on entrepreneurship/business as the source for financing my future and clandestine participation in the pan-European Conservative Revolutionary Movement/pan-European Resistance Movement. As you already know I became one of the founding members of the PCCTS, Knights Templar in 2002 and among the very first Justiciar Knight Commanders. However, regardless of this choice, I was not completely convinced I was done with conventional politics. I actually decided to do a last push (after my pledge to the PCCTS) as I was already nominated on behalf of the Oslo Progress Party for the City Council election in 2003/2004. I came relatively close to being elected but was not among the final contestants due to the fact that the Progress Party Youth (lead by my rival Jøran Kallmyr) refused, for strategical reasons, to support my candidature. At the time I was more popular than Jøran but needed the support of the youth organisation (an organisation I had been a part of for a few years). I don’t blame him for backstabbing me like that though. After all, he had invested so much more of his time to the organisation than I had. He deserved it while I didn’t and I would probably have done the same thing if I was him.

Also, during the “crossroad phase” I had lost all faith in the Progress Party as a solution to Norway’s rapid disintegration due to multiculturalism and Islamisation. A moderate cultural conservative political party like the Progress Party is un-capable of solving any of our primary problems as they are systematically ridiculed and isolated by all other political parties and a united media sector. This, even despite of the fact that they have taken measures and gotten rid of all true nationalists ending up with only opportunistic career cynisists unwilling to take any political risks.

The Progress Party is now a part of the problem as they continuously give the Norwegian people false hope and thus contributes to pacify them. They should rather be honest and admit that all hopes for the democratical change of the society is futile and rather encourage all patriotic Norwegians to resist the multiculturalist regime through armed resistance. Their unwillingness to do this makes them a central part of the problem and in fact an obstacle to the liberation of and the reconquista of Norway.

I anticipate that the Norwegian media will persecute and undermine the Progress Party for my earlier involvement in the organisation. This is not a negative thing as an increasing amount of Norwegians will then have their “illusions of democratic change” crushed (if the Progress Party is annihilated by the multiculturalist media) and rather resorts to armed resistance. From a tactical and pragmatical viewpoint; the PC Medias defeat of the Progress Party will benefit the armed National Resistance Movement in Norway. The more moderate alternatives are persecuted the more likely it is that the average nationalists illusions of peaceful reform will be crushed, which will lead to him seeking “other means”. Because at this point, armed resistance and the violent overthrow of our regime is the only thing that can save us.

2002: Founding member (national representative) of the PCCTS, Knights Templar, in London (April).

2002: Member of the board of directors of the control authority for Majorstuen Eldresenter (Majorstuen Retirement home), political position for the Norwegian Progress Party.

2002: Member of the board of directors for Uranienborg Elementary and Secondary School, political position for the Norwegian Progress Party.

2001: Development of the financial prospectus for Hypertec AS in cooperation with NB Partner AS and PriceWaterhouseCoopers DA (Jan 01-May 01)

2000-2003: Board member in Progress Party Frogner and Vice Chairman in the Progress Party Youth – Oslo West.

Orwellian police tracking system to be activated in Massachusetts

Lawyer: Cop scanner ‘crosses line’

Civil libertarians are raising the alarm over the state’s plans to create a Big Brother database that could map drivers’ whereabouts with police cruiser-mounted scanners that capture thousands of license plates per hour — storing that information indefinitely where local cops, staties, feds and prosecutors could access it as they choose.

“What kind of a society are we creating here?” asked civil rights lawyer Harvey Silverglate, who along with the ACLU fears police abuse. “There comes a point where the surveillance is so pervasive and total that it’s a misnomer to call a society free any longer.”

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view.bg?&articleid=1353264&format=&page=1&listingType=Loc#articleFull

At first glance, it appears that the device is only a practical use of technology, giving police a modern tool to help them do faster and more efficiently, what they have done since the two-way radio was introduced to the police car. There is nothing illegal about police running a license plate number to make sure the car is insured and properly registered, or is not being searched for by police for whatever reason. Rather than manually calling in each license plate number to headquarters, this system automatically scans and cross-references the license plate of every vehicle the police cruiser passes by.

Of course, even with this though there have been some horror stories. In the past, a police officer generally would not take the time to run a license plate number without cause. Some sort of suspicion about the vehicle which garnered their attention to begin with. But with this new tech today, the alarm will sound for all sorts of things that the officer would never have known about otherwise. That may sound like a good thing at first, but consider a story I heard out of Texas a few years ago when they rolled out these new cameras.

A man was driving a car registered to his brother. His own car had been in an accident, and he was using his brother's vehicle to get to and from work while his own car was being repaired. Although the man had broken no traffic laws, he was stopped by a police officer who had gotten a "hit" on the license plate from the Automatic License Plate Recognition device. As it turned out, the man who owned the car had a warrant out for his arrest after falling behind on child support payments. When the man showed the officer his license, the officer believed he was using an alias, and was in fact the same man for whom the warrant had been issued. The brother was arrested and then spent the next six months in jail before it all got straightened out. Oh, and by the way, the whole thing was simply a computer error from the start, As it turned out his brother didn't even have any children. The warrant had been meant for another man by the same name.

But this system does more than just scan license plates at up to 30 plates a second. It does not only scan and analyze the data, it stores the information as well, permanently, effectively turning police cars into tracking devices that keep tabs on every move of every law-abiding citizen on the road. Quite obviously the potential for abuses of such information is very high and may indeed actually put citizens in danger. Now we might imagine how it could be used by police to circumvent Constitutionally protected liberty, how it might be used by rogue police officers to commit crimes, and all sorts of scenarios of that nature. The database coming online in Massachusetts will be shared with police agencies at all levels of government, local, county, state, and Federal, making it quite difficult to manage who is accessing what and why, with no laws or oversi9ght to protect the interests of citizens. From there it is not difficult to imagine that the information will be shared with other groups, say like your car insurance company who may use such data to raise your rates. But lastly, there is no reason to believe that this information is not a matter of public record and subject to Freedom of Information requests. Which means that all your ex spouse, current stalker, potential employer, or anyone else has to do to track your traveling habits, is file a form.

In a ruling last year by the US Court of Appeals in regards to GPS tracking technology, they articulated what sort of information may be gleaned by knowing a person's travel habits...
“A person who knows all of another’s travels can deduce whether he is a weekly churchgoer, a heavy drinker, a regular at the gym, an unfaithful husband, an outpatient receiving medical treatment, an associate of particular individuals or political groups – and not just one such fact about a person, but all such facts.”

This system has already come online here in NY without much discussion whatsoever. The first I ever heard about it being used locally here in the Hudson Valley, was after the system had already been deployed and was mentioned in a news blurb as being the key that led police to the suspects.in a horrific crime. A sheriff's department patrol vehicle had reportedly passed by the suspects driving away from the scene where they had ditched and burned another car, but did not know it until later when the data stored from the Automatic License Plate Recognition device was cross-reference as part of the investigation.

So of course one horrific crime it all it takes for the average Joe to fall in line with the rhetoric and submit to Big Brother once again. Which of course is also how 9/11 is being exploited nationwide in the last decade as we have become a full-blown fascist police-state dictated to by more new agencies than I could even name. But it's no surprise that the NYPD is leading the charge with this technology, creating a "ring of steel" in downtown Manhattan as shown by a New York Times article from a few months ago.

Massachussets State Police spokesman David Procopio defends the use of the system saying....

“What about the rights of someone who is already a victim to have their assailant brought to justice? There’s a freedom to being able to live your life not worried about being the victim of crime that’s also a freedom worth protecting.”

Your rights end where my freedom begins Mr. Procopio. Just because one may be the victim of a crime, in no way gives them the right to infringe upon my liberty in the shallow hopes that such an infringement will lead to the capture and successful prosecution of the assailant. Furthermore, there is no law, nor will the ever be any law, that would give one the "freedom" to live a life without worry. So it all comes down to a matter of where one draws the line. Where do you draw the line? With the police tracking every movement of all citizens? Perhaps you would draw the line at submitting to a surgically implanted chip, or a tracking beacon stuffed in your rear end, cameras in your bedroom perhaps to monitor whether or not you are having "deviant" sex, maybe an explosive collar with which police can blow your head off at any time with the push of a button, just to be on the safe side. Where, where do you draw the line America?

My line got crossed a few miles back folks.

Homeland Security spreads more crazy conspiracy theories

ABC News spreads lies on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security, to keep Americans living in fear and wiling to hand over more billions of dollars to fund our own Orwellien enlsavement. The article begins...
Sabotage by an insider at a major utility facility, including a chemical or oil refinery, could provide al Qaeda with its best opportunity for the kind of massive Sept. 11 anniversary attack Osama bin Laden was planning, according to U.S. officials.

A new intelligence report from the Department of Homeland Security issued Tuesday, titled Insider Threat to Utilities, warns "violent extremists have, in fact, obtained insider positions," and that "outsiders have attempted to solicit utility-sector employees" for damaging physical and cyber attacks.

Well, if they know this for a "fact" then why haven't we heard about any arrests in this plot of Bin Laden's ghost? Well, gee, because...
The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement there was no specific threat.

Biker cop aces test course

...In spades. Good run sir.

I know I talk a a lot of shit about the police, but hey, credit where credit is due. They were once people after all, lol.

Prosecution would have used false evidence to execute Casey Anthony

One of the main sticking points by the lynch-mob couch-lawyers that Casey should have been hanged, is the supposed computer search for information on chloroform. During the trial the prosecution claimed that Casey had searched the term 84 times, based on the testimony of their computer expert John Bradley. Now it appears that not only was that information false, but that the prosecution knew that it was false, and never corrected the matter to the jury or shared the revelation with the defense.

This matter is not only a sticking point in the trial-by-media which still continues, but was in fact a primary reason that the prosecution intended to seek a death sentence against Casey. So not only did the prosecution let the jury believe that Casey had searched for chloroform 84 times, but they were going to execute her knowingly based on false evidence.

Was it really false evidence though? It does appear that the term was in fact searched one time from the Anthony home computer. But is that enough for a conviction? Is that enough to execute someone? I can tell you that I have searched chloroform a number of times since this trial, and on at least one occasion before the trial after I saw the movie The Vanishing. We also must consider too, who actually did the search.

Suppose this is why the State Attorney’s office has decided not to seek perjury charges against Cindy Anthony? Casey's mother testified at trial that she put in a search query for chlorophyll, and mistakenly entered chloroform. As anyone who as ever Googled knows, when you begin to spell out a word, it pops up with a list of closely spelled suggestions. One click is all it takes to land you someplace other than where you searching originally, either mistakenly, or because a new topic or term catches your interest in the moment.

When clarifying the error in an interview with the New York Times...

The Google search then led to a Web site, sci-spot.com, that was visited only once, Mr. Bradley added. The Web site offered information on the use of chloroform in the 1800s.

So, in a nutshell, the police used an incompetent programmer to design the software for their invesitgation, the prosecution used false evidence in order to prosecute someone and then did not disclose that fact to the defense when the programmer discovered an error, and were also planning to use that false evidence in order to execute someone. And you really want to give those people MORE power?

Trooper cuts off motorcycle, biker to face charges

Southeast, NY - A motorcyclist is still alive and in stable condition at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut, after hitting the right side of a New York State Police patrol vehicle, a guardrail, and then being thrown from his bike at high speed. 20-year old Matthew Hillman was rescued from a ditch by firefighters.

News reports indicate that a State Trooper positioned on a center-median in Fishkill, NY clocked the bikes at 100-mph, but was unable to pursue and then radioed ahead to another patrol to intercept the dual menace. That patrol engaged the first bike which passed by, cutting off the approaching second motorcycle, when the crash occurred.

The injured biker will face charges.

Wait, what? What about the Trooper? The Trooper must have known that there were two bikes to be on the lookout for to begin with. Second of all, just because someone is speeding, does not give the police the right to pull out in front of them and cause a wreck. Particularly with a motorcycle, which could easily cause a fatality.

And for that matter, we don't even know if the biker was actually speeding at that point. Okay, so maybe they were clocked at 100-mph in the next county, that is no proof that the biker was speeding when the police-patrol vehicle deliberately collided with him.Hard to imagine anyone actually surviving a 100-mph impact on a bike.

But maybe it was just an accident. Maybe the Trooper didn't actually see the second biker coming down the long stretch of interstate highway, at night, with his headlights on. Maybe the biker really was going so fast the Trooper didn't see him in time before pulling out and cutting him off by accident.

Somehow, I doubt that. I really don't care so much that the biker was running out his machine a little in the middle of the night on an open stretch of highway. I am far more concerned that a State Trooper appears to have tried to kill him because of it.

A cop and his donut

NYPD traffic agent double parks to go buy a donut which carries a fine of $115.00 dollars for the average New Yorker. After returning to his vehicle he issues a parked minivan a ticket before biting into his donut and driving off. Here in New York law enforcement break every law that citizens must obey, here is yet another example.

Conspiracy and coverup in case of slain teen?

In a previous article we looked at potent rumors that two police officers may have been involved in the death of Katie Filiberti, who was found dead in a secluded town park on March 19 of this year. One officer is said to have had a relationship with the teen, and two officers submitted to DNA testing.

Today the Poughkeepsie Journal is reporting that the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office released a statement declaring that Hyde Park Police officers are not suspects in the case. Sadly, the article says little else and it appears that the publication is not doing a very good job of gathering or reporting information. There isn't even a quote in the article, much less a link to the actual statement. Which of course then leads us to more questions that should be answered.

If you bother to visit the PoJo article, you will see that they no longer allow public comments on any articles related to the case, supposedly because of "repeated" violations of their terms of service. Perhaps they should hire a better moderator for the online edition comments area, rather then making the unprecedented choice to silence the public voice on the matter. Blanket censorship is hardly the hallmark of journalistic integrity.

Which then leads us now to wonder of course, why has the DCDAO chosen to have the Poughkeepsie Journal speak for them exclusively? Why was the statement not issued to the public, officially, through their own website, rather than exclusively through a for-profit publication? Didn't they learn anything from the mistake of the Hyde Park Police in their mismanagement of public information sharing? Why are we not seeing any actual official statements, only vague reports by publications who's integrity may also be compromised? If there is indeed a coverup, these vague reports can later be revised, or simp0ly written off as misunderstandings, rather than complicity, should the truth ever come out.

The possibility of a coverup is not at all far-fetched, nor is the notion of a conspiracy between agencies and perhaps even the press. The DCDAO has refused to prosecute police officers accused of violent crimes in the past, and is no stranger to corruption. Former DCDAO prosecutor G. Gordon Liddy went on to become the ringleader of the notorious Watergate break in, for example. Not that we even really need to have examples or a track-record of scandal to entertain the possibility that any police agency or prosecutor's office is not immune from misconduct.

Therefore, we must also ask why the DCDAO has chosen to make such a statement in first place? Were the DNA samples given by the two police officers processed that quickly? Much simpler toxicology reports take 6-8 weeks, as was true while the public awaited the results of the Dutchess County Medical Examiner's Office autopsy of the slain teen. Results that the public never got, after the ME was ordered by the DA to remains silent about the case. Officially, the death has not even been ruled a homicide, though police are investigating as one apparently.

It is also curious that the investigation would rule out anyone since no arrests have been made in the case. Do they even have any suspects at all? Why did the DCDAO make a statement ruling out police officers, but not anyone else, such as Katie's boyfriend Mike who was suspected initially by many people in the community. He has since told the Poughkeepsie Journal that he was ruled out as a suspect after submitting a DNA sample himself, but no such statement was ever issued by the DA or the police on his behalf. Why the favoritism being shown to police by the prosecutor's office?

From almost the beginning, the only information that the public is given on this case, is information defending the police and what appears to be a failed investigation. With each small development in the story, it appears more likely that there is indeed a conspiracy and a coverup, rather then justice for Katie.

EDIT: Looks like PoJo decided to finally put out a more in depth article this morning.

Government subsidized obesity? You betcha!

Why Americans can't afford to eat healthy

The real reason Big Macs are cheaper than more nutritious alternatives? Government subsidies

By David Sirota

The easiest way to explain Gallup's discovery that millions of Americans are eating fewer fruits and vegetables than they ate last year is to simply crack a snarky joke about Whole Foods really being "Whole Paycheck." Rooted in the old limousine liberal iconography, the quip conjures the notion that only Birkenstock-wearing trust-funders can afford to eat right in tough times.

It seems a tidy explanation for a disturbing trend, implying that healthy food is inherently more expensive, and thus can only be for wealthy Endive Elitists when the economy falters. But if the talking point's carefully crafted mix of faux populism and oversimplification seems a bit facile -- if the glib explanation seems almost too perfectly sculpted for your local right-wing radio blowhard -- that's because it dishonestly omits the most important part of the story. The part about how healthy food could easily be more affordable for everyone right now, if not for those ultimate elitists: agribusiness CEOs, their lobbyists and the politicians they own.

As with most issues in this new Gilded Age, the tale of the American diet is a story of the worst form of corporatism -- the kind whereby the government uses public monies to protect private profit.

Pentagon Strike (video)

This was the first video I ever watched that challenged the official version of 9/11. Since then, I have gone off on all sorts or goose chases and delved deep into the mysteries of 9/11. I've watched hundreds of videos and spent thousands of hours reviewing everything from engineering specs, to witness statements. Some of the things in this video may or may not be accurate, you will have to judge for yourself, just as I did. Nonetheless, I do fully endorse it as a great introduction to the world of 9/11 conspiracy theory. It's a short vid, not full of all sorts of technical jargon, just some things here to get you thinking. Questions asked that have never been answered. A different view than what was spoon-fed to you that morning and the days that followed.

Did the Allspark Cube make a crash landing in Sudan?

Okay, so maybe it wasn't really the All Spark but it certainly is a strange mystery just the same.

August 3, 1967 - Shamal Darfur, Sudan

A mysterious object plummets from the sky, slamming into the remote desert of western Sudan, approximately 60 miles north by northwest of Al Fashir.

Origin- unknown

The object is reported to be in the shape of a cube, weighing 3 tons. It is made up of smaller, tightly packed oblong cubes measuring one inch by two inches each, but the total size of the object is not reported nor the third dimensional measurement of the smaller cubes. The cubes are made of a soft metal, presumed to be light aluminum, yet cutting samples of it was said to be difficult. How exactly the cubes were fastened together forming the larger cube is unknown.

The entire cube was shrouded in a silky material. There were no markings apparent on the object to identify it. No photographs have ever been made public, though it is reported that local officials did take photos. There is no description of an impact crater. The object is reported to be a satellite, but there are a number of problems with that conclusion.

Skylab
Satellites are not designed to survive the re-entry into Earth's atmosphere. Even when the remnants of Skylab space station fell out of orbit and disintegrated over Australia upon re-entry in 1979, the largest piece to be recovered on the ground was an oxygen tank. Nowhere near as massive as the Sudan object.

Aluminum melts at 350-degrees Fahrenheit. It is unlikely it would have tumbled through Earth's atmosphere from space without disintegrating and vaporizing, unless it was either protected by a heat shield of some sort, though no such shielding is reported, or if it was originally much, much larger than the object recovered.

So what was this silk-like substance that the cube was covered by? Hardly the sort of material one might expect to be used as a heat shield. Re-entry vehicles such as space-capsules and the Space Shuttle used specially engineered ceramic tiles in order to survive the extreme temperatures of re-entry into the atmosphere. Remembering the Shuttle Columbia tragedy, we can see what happens to an object when the heat shield fails. It may be possible that the silk-like material was a parachute which deployed on the object's final descent. That might also explain the lack of an impact crater being reported if it was indeed a soft landing. But there are a few problems with that theory too.

Why wasn't the material simply identified as a parachute? Where did the heat shield go? Why would an unmanned satellite be designed to fall out of orbit, for what purpose? It costs a lot of money and takes a lot hard work to put something that large up into space. Why would you want to bring it back down?

All of these questions suddenly become academic though as we dig a little deeper and find that we could not have put it into space in the first place. If it was in fact a man-made satellite, how in fact did it get up there? To that date, there was no rocket in the world powerful enough hoist a 3-ton satellite into orbit. The only rocket powerful enough to accomplish such a mission would have been the U.S. Saturn V rocket which did not launch on it's maiden voyage until November 9 of that same year, about three months after this object slammed into the Sudan desert intact. Though now decommissioned, to date the Saturn V remains the most powerful operational rocket ever built and still holds the record for the heaviest launch vehicle payload.

Despite mankind's apparent technological inability to launch such a massive object, there have also been other reports of inexplicably massive satellites being observed over the years. The so-called Black Knight satellite is one such example of the phenomenon. Was this object that fell to the ground in Africa the Black Knight, or something similar? Check out our previous article on that here...

Black Knight Satellite Mystery

It is unlikely that if the United States launched such an object into space, that they would also be wondering what it was and where it came from. The United States officially denies that an object that massive has ever been recovered, as we see in an alleged de-classified report from the Department of State. Relevant portion quoted here...
Q and A with regard to the Soviet Space objects which fell in the middle west.

Questions asked by US Senate Committee on Aeronautical and Space Sciences, 92D Congress, 2nd Session, Staff Report, May 1972.

Q: Have any fragments as large as these ever come back to earth from US or other Soviet Satellites?

A: We do not have any record of a US fragment or of another Soviet fragment as large as the largest COSMOS 316 fragment surviving re-entry. The largest COSMOS 316 fragment is approximately 4 ft by 4ft and weighs 640 pounds.

So is this entire story simply a myth, a hoax? So often that's what these sorts of stories are usually written off as anyway, so it would probably be easy to do that here as well. Although we do have some corroboration that the object was recovered as part of Project Moondust. But I think we can do one better. Let's go ahead and have a look at a document I found at the Defense Intelligence Agency, which contradicts State Department report.

I originally found the document at this address which is no longer valid... http://www.dia.mil/publicaffairs/Foia/ufo2.pdf

ET humanoid captured in New Paltz NY?

I stumbled across this entry while investigating something about rocketry.

March 1960 - New Paltz, NY Local law enforcement authorities captured a small humanoid outside his craft while two copilots escaped. The alien was turned over to the CIA and died 28 days later.

That same entry is repeated across many websites, but so far I haven't been able to dig up any more info on it. One site says the information is based on a local newspaper clipping but they don't say which paper and there is no image of the alleged article. I know the region very well, and it has long been known as a hotbed of UFO activity.

Are there any readers here who may have more information of any kind on this event?

Can't Truss It - Public Enemy

I often hear the excuse that "police are only human" when we hear of a case of police violating rights or even killing an innocent person. Yet we NEVER hear that same reasoning when a new law is proposed which gives them MORE power to violate us...

It ain't a black thang, it's a slave thing...

Nothing to hide, nothing to fear?

Two articles that debunk the myth...

Debunking a myth: If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear

The idea that an individual can live in a surveillance society with nothing to fear so long as they have nothing to hide may, on the face of it, appear attractive. For those of us who think of ourselves as 'honest' - we pay our taxes, don't commit murders and are loyal to our partners - why indeed should we fear surveillance?

"Nothing to hide, nothing to fear" (NTHNTF) is a myth that is built on certain false assumptions, and these assumptions are never questioned when it is wheeled out as an argument to support whatever draconian surveillance measure is being pushed out in the face of citizen opposition (commercial organisations rarely try such an approach, since it dooms them to failure from the very beginning). These assumptions include:

Why Privacy Matters Even if You Have 'Nothing to Hide'

When the government gathers or analyzes personal information, many people say they're not worried. "I've got nothing to hide," they declare. "Only if you're doing something wrong should you worry, and then you don't deserve to keep it private."

The nothing-to-hide argument pervades discussions about privacy. The data-security expert Bruce Schneier calls it the "most common retort against privacy advocates." The legal scholar Geoffrey Stone refers to it as an "all-too-common refrain." In its most compelling form, it is an argument that the privacy interest is generally minimal, thus making the contest with security concerns a foreordained victory for security.

The nothing-to-hide argument is everywhere. In Britain, for example, the government has installed millions of public-surveillance cameras in cities and towns, which are watched by officials via closed-circuit television. In a campaign slogan for the program, the government declares: "If you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to fear." Variations of nothing-to-hide arguments frequently appear in blogs, letters to the editor, television news interviews, and other forums. One blogger in the United States, in reference to profiling people for national-security purposes, declares: "I don't mind people wanting to find out things about me, I've got nothing to hide! Which is why I support [the government's] efforts to find terrorists by monitoring our phone calls!"

The argument is not of recent vintage. One of the characters in Henry James's 1888 novel, The Reverberator, muses: "If these people had done bad things they ought to be ashamed of themselves and he couldn't pity them, and if they hadn't done them there was no need of making such a rumpus about other people knowing."
